Tips on positioning cameras

The succes of the photos and videos and the configuration of the EventCMS depends on the positioning of the cameras. First, some general tips to set the basic:

  • Try to have camera on eye-level, unless crowd is in front of camera
  • Ensure crowd cannot move in front of line of sight of the camera
  • Ensure camera is free standing and not connected to fencing (to prevent shaking)
  • Use levelers on ball head to ensure tripod is level with horizon

Cyclists usually take the outer bend. Therefore, we recommend that you set up the camera on the outer bend for cycling events.

Running:

Runners usually take the inner bend. Therefore, we recommend that you set up the camera on the inner bend for running events.
