5.9 ChampionChip Timing System Live Tracking Limitations

If you are using MYLAPS ChampionChip Timing systems to run LiveTracking, you should take a couple of things into account and act if required.

1) Start date

2) Midnight transitions

3) Decoder will be moved between locations

4) Troubleshooting

1. Start date

Passings which are detected using ChampionChip equipment do not include date information when sent to Timing & Scoring. The Start date from Timing & Scoring will be used and allocated to the passings.

Open Timing & Scoring

Click Event Event Status

Change Start Date

Save Event file and close

Open and Restore

2. Midnight transitions

When your event will take place over two days, you will need to change the Start date when you go past midnight.

Open Timing & Scoring

Click Event Event Status

Change Start Date

3. How to use the same Ear/decoder on multiple locations

For now you need to right click and select Disconnect on the tcp/ip exporter every time you move a decoder between locations. This is because we scan the decoders on connection and when you move a decoder it counts as a different encoder/location combination. When we rescan we discover it’s a ChampionChip decoder and will ignore the date part again.

Open Timing & Scoring

Right mouse click TCP/IP Exporter

Click Disconnect

  • Repeat this action each time you move a ChampionChip decoder between locations.

4. Troubleshooting

What to do if the dates are incorrect and all the passings where already sent to the EventCMS?

If timeline Open Times in the EventCMS have been used:

  1. Edit Start date in T&S
  2. Pull passings again from Ears/decoder into T&S, required to allocate correct/new date
  3. Press rewind data

If NO timeline Open Times in the EventCMS have been used:

  1. Change the Event date in the EventCMS to a date in the future
  2. Clear all passings from the Live Timeline overview in the EventCMS
  3. Change the Event date in the EventCMS back to today's date
  4. Edit Start date in T&S
  5. Pull passings again from Ears/decoder into T&S, required to allocate correct/new date
  6. Press rewind data
